For those of you in a relationship: do you ever feel uninspired or unsure of what to do with your loved one?
I haven’t opened up much about my love life yet, but for those who don’t know, I’m in a long distance relationship with a wonderful and sweet guy in London. We have been dating for almost two years and try to see each other as frequently as possible (now made easier since I am in Spain and not in California!)
Every time we see each other, we are together, 24/7. Literally. We spend the first few days extremely happy and relaxed, maybe sightseeing, taking pictures, and eating lots. But after a few days, we feel like we’ve exhausted everything we could do out in the city and end up being an old couple: cooking dinner and watching movies together. Now there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but at some point it does go a bit like this:
“Babe, what do you want to do?”
– “I don’t know, what do you want to do?”
On and on and on, until the time has passed and we feel like just cuddling.
Our Love Challenges
Recently, I heard about this wonderful book that is being launched called “Our Love Challenges.” It’s a pretty cool activity and scrapbook created by two university students in the Czech Republic: Vitek and David.
I look at it as a baby book — but for your relationship. Instead of documenting your baby’s first words, first lock of hair, or hospital tag, you document moments with your loved one doing creative and cute activities. Some of the activities include:
- Returning to the place you met
- Baking together
- Taking a boat ride
- Dancing in public
- Going on a mini road trip
- Drawing your future house
- and many more
The thing I like even more about this book is the memory aspect of it. It’s a photo album and a journal. There are some pages where you get to reminisce on your time together and you also get to document every challenge: with pictures and lots of room to write.
Check out a preview of the book here!
There are over 180 challenges in here and they all seem pretty fun, cute, and romantic — especially when you get to look back at the book and see all you have done together. I mean, we tend to take pictures with our loved ones, but we don’t really document the full memory, emotions, or story itself (and is it just me, or is it getting harder and harder to remember everything?)
Why Am I Sharing this with You?
Well, first off. I think this is awesome idea for a book and I’m definitely getting one as soon as they come out.
Secondly, I think it’s even awesome-r that it’s being created, printed, and sold by two university students!
Thirdly, because they have seen a lot of success in the Czech Republic but want to make it bigger than that. They sold 2,000 copies in their country in six months alone (that’s incredible), and now want to create the book in various languages and sell it internationally.
Goals for the Book
In order to print and sell internationally, they have to of course make the books. Translating it into English, Spanish, and German, is hard work and printing is super expensive. These two ambitious men are trying to raise enough capital to make this book a reality and start their own business straight from uni (LOVE IT!)
Anyway, they are only a bit away from reaching their $8,000 goal, but they only have one week to make it happen. I’m hoping to help them spread the word so they can reach their goal and create something that we could all use. (I honestly think I can even use this book for my best friend and I!)
I would love to be able to support them and am sure they would appreciate it too.
Isn’t it Great?
I absolutely love the fact that they are taking something that every couple struggles with and solving it with something fun, doable, and memorable. I can’t wait for my copy!
Also, here goes my first blog picture of me and my sweetheart… *drumroll please*
Woo! Our first public debut on my blog. So exciting!
